Summer Breeze

Hi dear readers! Do you remember having to recount your summertime at the start of a new school year? The oral reports in front of the class that often started with, “what I did this summer,” painted pictures of fun, relaxation, and fond memories. As children we often longed for those days of no school, no homework, and for some of us, late bedtimes and lazy weekends. Chasing fireflies, camping, refreshing iced tea and lemonade, beach days, fishing, and trips to relatives near and far made summertime a magical, wonderful time for many.
Despite any uncertainty society and the world present, despite any challenges you have faced or are facing, and regardless of any setbacks that have come, staying focused on the wellbeing of your mind, your spirit, your body and your family need to be a priority. As children have headed back to school and we prepare for what this autumn season may bring, I hope that your summer was well dear reader. I hope that your days have been full of blessings, full of joy, and full of good memories and happy times.

This summer our household and family came together as good company sharing good times, facing various challenges, shedding tears and sharing laughter. From household projects, spontaneous trips, and supporting new businesses, to navigating serious health scares, wild river adventures and hosting celebrations summer 2025 allowed us to grow closer and stronger in relationships, in character, and most importantly, in our faith in God. Here is a snapshot of what we did this summer.

Pots were brimming, grills were going hot and there was plenty of elbow grease and strategic planning going around for the creation of the L.I.F.E. Wellness Studio workspace along with DIY landscaping projects. Milestone birthdays were celebrated along with personal, professional, and education-based accomplishments. My gratitude for being part of such wonderful family can never truly be expressed in words!

We had summer days catching blue-tailed skinks and tree frogs, along with fun in the sun with skittering ghost crabs at the beach. Camping with friends and exploring rivers and nature trails through forest land helped cement a healthy appreciation of the natural world around us.

We welcomed guests from near and far to our Airbnb studio apartment as a small part of fostering a space to create fond summer memories in the lives of others. The opportunity to meet new people and share good times together did not end there. Guests from New Jersey and Pennsylvania joined in the 2025 L.I.F.E. Wellness Studio Wellness Weekend Nature Retreat held at Assateague Island National Seashore.

Small town fairs and festivals made for good times and fun while supporting fellow small business owners and our local economy. We hit bike trails through northern parts of Virginia and Washington D.C. and visited museums of the National Mall. There were ice cream treats and delicious seafood at National Harbor and The Wharf DC. From the Salisbury Shorebirds to the Chesapeake Baysox, there's something special about gathering for local MiLB games and we got our fair share in. We also got some Major League Baseball action in at games for the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals. There were plenty of logs to split for firewood and our bucket gardens yielded fresh produce that we used for tasty new recipes such as jalapeno mango goat cheese flatbread, and some go to classic favorites like pot roast and veggies.

These photos do not capture every part of our summer breeze, nor the blessings of the wonderful memories God granted us. As the temperatures and leaves slowly fall there are opportunities for more family bonding, cozy fires, hayrides, spiced cider and hot cocoa to look forward to. There are chances to face each day with a grateful heart as we embrace those we love and the new season upon us and if we are wise, we will not take life for granted nor the people in it. Change is in the air dear reader and I’m not just referring to the weather! No matter where you are, may we each stay safe, be of a sound mind, and be our best selves through it all. Until we meet again remember to be kind to those around you and as always, to be well.
Blessings to you,
Tasha C.
