Every Wave Reaches Shore

Thank you, dear reader, for your patience! It has indeed been a long time since I have posted, and I appreciate your ongoing support. I took the much-needed time to focus on growth both professionally and personally. Traveling for work and school across three States, packing and moving, nurturing and solidifying familial ties and business relationships, handling property damage from wild weather, and managing health on all levels – whew! Life was and still is “life-ing”. Have you ever been “lifed” by life dear reader? Have you ever experienced wave after wave of legitimate responsibilities and unforeseen issues that mysteriously only fit on your plate? Have you ever been pushed to what you saw as your limit and made to expand what the definition of your limit is? Have you looked around and shaken your head not knowing where to start or even what to do? Even if you haven’t, it can happen to any of us at any given time and in the spirit of encouragement dear reader, just keep swimming and bobbing because eventually every wave, no matter how great or small, reaches shore.

It may take longer than you want but every wave of life eventually reaches shore.
It may take longer than you want but every wave of life eventually reaches shore.

I am taking space here to acknowledge that I am no expert on life. I am a woman that understands what it is to feel tired, frustrated, angered, not good enough, not strong enough, not intelligent enough, not spiritual enough. I am grateful for the blessings of my family, my dear children, my significant other. They see my challenges, witness my struggles, dive in where able, and patiently love me through the waves of life’s seas, and the rain of life’s storms. Sometimes the storms blow you out to sea. When my faith is low, they help to carry me. When my motivation is absent, they will not let me quit. I feel it is my duty to pay that forward and thus, here I am.

If you are too tired to swim, find a way to float. Be still and float. If you are at the end of your rope, do not give up! Tie a knot in it and hold on. Help is available. Maybe you do not believe in prayer as I do. Maybe you do not have a close friend or confidante to turn to, but you are not alone. At times we must hold on with one hand while reaching out with the other. We must push our ego aside, take a deep breath, and reach out for help. As humans we are not meant to do everything on our own. Community resources exist for numerous things - health screenings, financial assistance, mental health counseling, home improvement assistance, free education and career training, etc. etc. etc. Thank you, Yul Brynner – I love “The King and I”. Laughing out loud, if you know what I mean here, you know – if not, feel free to do a web search.

My point is that life happens, and we cannot always see the road ahead. We cannot always plan for every single possibility of occurrence. We are not omniscient. What we can do is navigate through life with the knowledge that as bleak as things seem or may actually be, that no matter how overwhelming the situation feels, that regardless of how hurtful, scary, or unbelievable the scenario is, it is just a moment and every moment passes. I repeat. Every. Moment. Passes. Every wave reaches the shore. By God's grace I am able to smile and dance in the rain but I am ever learning how to safely ride life's waves. I hope that you, dear reader, are encouraged to do the same. May we all learn and grow forward peacefully.

Blessings to you and yours,

Tasha

Well said. Life is always lifing, learning to navigate the waters is exactly what's needed in order to survive. Thank you for this gentle reminder to never give up!
